Designed to Cut Through
The new XJ is a spacious four-door saloon with the body of a sports coupé. In standard or long-wheelbase, it combines sculptural elegance with a clear sense of visual drama. The streamlined profile and sweeping roofline help make this the most aerodynamic Jaguar ever, with a drag coefficient of just 0.29.

A Promise of Power and Performance
Seen from the front, the new XJ is low and wide with a bold, deep-set mesh grille, flanked by slender, swept-back Xenon light clusters. The wide bonnet, sculpted power bulge and muscular wheel arches impart a forward-biased dynamic – a promise of exhilarating performance before the car has even turned a wheel.

Light and Space
The sleek, seductive profile houses a panoramic glass roof which is standard on all new XJ models. Extending the full width of the roof, and sweeping back from the top of the windscreen to the front of the rear seat area, it floods the cabin with natural light and heightens the feeling of interior space.

“Cat’s Claw” Led Lights
The rear design is simple and elegant. In another stunning break with convention, LED light clusters flow down the rear wings, following the line of the boot opening. Each features three dramatic vertical red strips; the claw marks of a cat.

The Luxury of Space
The cabin of the new XJ provides accommodation for five with lavish amounts of headroom and legroom. For true stretch-out, rear-seat lounging space, long-wheelbase models add an impressive 125mm to the rear cabin, providing no less than one metre of rear legroom.

Panoramic Glass Roof
A panoramic glass roof accentuates the feeling of space. The power-opening mechanism slides the glass upwards and outwards, ensuring there is no loss of headroom. A dark tint and special reflective coating prevent the cabin from becoming too hot under a strong sun and twin electric blinds close at the touch of a button if extra privacy is required.

Hand Finished Leather
The interior of the new XJ boasts more sumptuous leather than any previous Jaguar. It adorns all of the main surfaces, including the seats, instrument panel, door tops, centre console and armrests. For the ultimate in luxury, the XJ Supersport model even features an exquisite leather head lining.

Mirror-Matched, Handcrafted Veneers
Inspired by the classic wooden speedboats of the 1950´s, hand chosen, mirror-matched wood veneers curve around the fascia beneath the windscreen and sweep through the whole cabin to form a continuous arc. Eleven veneer choices are available, each sourced from sustainable forests and hand-finished in Jaguar´s legendary Browns Lane wood shop.

Bathed in Light
When day turns to night, the new XJ becomes one of the coolest, sexiest places to be. Gorgeous phosphor blue mood lighting bathes the interior in a soft glow from the halo of the main switches and controls to the highlights of the doors and centre console.

The Power of Light
The XJ´s advanced lightweight Aluminium monocoque bodyshell is fundamental to the way the car performs. Constructed using techniques derived from the aerospace industry, the advantages over a conventional steel body are compelling – faster acceleration, more precise handling, shorter stopping distances, enhanced safety and greater fuel efficiency.

Intelligent Power
The XJ is powered by all new AJ-V6 diesel and AJ-V8 petrol Gen III engines – the most technically advanced Jaguar has ever created. Designed to combine towering performance with peerless refinement and exceptional efficiency, these remarkable engines guarantee a rich and exhilarating driving experience.

Jaguar Sequential Six-Speed Auto. Transmission
Power is transmitted through an enhanced version of Jaguar´s acclaimed electronically controlled ZF six-speed automatic transmission, featuring a fully-adaptive shift system for smooth gear changes and optimised performance. For maximum driver involvement, gears can also be selected manually using paddles mounted behind the steering wheel.

Technologies that Empower the Driver
Born from the belief that advanced technology should be easy to use, the new XJ introduces Jaguar iTech – a range of groundbreaking technologies and industry firsts designed to empower the driver and enhance the drive. Instrumentation Reinvented
An industry-leading virtual instrument display replaces the conventional "physical" instrument cluster and provides the driver with a much greater range of information. Combining flawless aesthetics with enhanced functionality, virtual dials appear real and solid on a 12.3 inch high-definition glass screen set behind the steering wheel.

Touch Screen
The elegant dashboard includes an easy to use high-definition Touch-screen which works in parallel with the virtual instrument display. Everything from navigation and climate control to telephone and audio systems can be controlled easily and intuitively by the touch of a finger, reducing the number of switches on the instrument panel to a minimum.

Introducing Dual View
In addition to its intuitive command functions, the Touch-screen can be specified to include Dual View - an amazing new technology that allows the driver and front passenger to look at different content at the same time. The driver can be following directions, for example, while the passenger watches TV or scrolls through their iPod® playlist..

Controls at Your Fingertips
On the left and right spokes of the steering wheel simple, five-way touch pads – similar to those on a mobile phone - provide menu-driven, access to regularly used functions. The system is fully integrated with the virtual instruments, which displays driver input and selections either as part of the information dial or as a menu to toggle through.

Interactive Voice
A new Interactive Voice control system has been developed for the new XJ. To avoid misunderstood commands, it uses a section of the instrument cluster to display a list of prompts for key words. Just hit ´Press to Talk´ on the steering wheel and simply ´say what you see´ on the list.

Unparalleled In-Car Audio
XJ offers three audio options, including a stunning 1200W Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system - arguably the most accomplished ever to be integrated into the interior of a car. Featuring the Audyssey MultEQ® audio tuning system, it delivers exceptional clarity through 20 speakers enhanced by the ultimate in digital sound processing technology.

Everything Connects
The XJ's Media Hub makes it easy to connect media storage devices to the car´s entertainment system. A docking panel located in the centre-console storage box allows connectivity with all iPods® from Generation 3 to the latest iPod® touch and iPhone®. It also supports USB memory sticks and many other MP3 players.

Hard Drive Storage
Load your favourite CDs into the centre console head unit and the music is saved onto a 30Gb hard drive – big enough for 10 CDs uncompressed. Even the new XJ´s satellite navigation system is based on the hard drive, for faster data access and the ability to store and update mapping information more easily.

All-round Entertainment
XJ´s sophisticated rear seat entertainment system allows passengers to enjoy TV, DVD, radio or music stored in the car´s hard drive or a connected MP3 Player. The system is operated using a portable Touch-screen controller, and includes dual 8-inch LCD screens and up to three sets of independently controllable wireless headphones.

Visual Testing
In addition to comprehensive real world testing, "virtual" testing was used extensively during XJ´s development. This included 7,000 virtual crash tests and more than 1 million miles of virtual driving – lessening the environmental impact of the programme, as well as providing much more data than could have been collected by physical testing alone.

Efficient Manufacturing
Jaguar's rigorous approach to efficiency continues at the assembly plant. Innovative manufacturing techniques – such as a reduction in the number of stamping actions used to produce body panels, and the elimination of welding from the bodyshell construction process - mean that the energy needed to build the new XJ is significantly reduced.

Safety and Reassurance
XJ's sophisticated safety systems are designed to lessen the risk of an accident, and to help protect both occupants and other road users should the worst happen. They include a highly advanced Airbag and Seat Occupant Sensing system, an industry-leading Pedestrian Contact Sensing system, Emergency Brake Assist and optional Blind Spot Monitor.
